Is Local TV “in the Catseat” for What’s Coming Next?

by | Nov 30, 2018 | BIA, Blog

At next week’s (Dec 6) TV of Tomorrow conference in New York, BIA will be moderating a session, “Local Broadcasting in the Cat Seat?”

Top executives from major station groups and the organizations and technology providers that serve them will consider how local broadcasters are becoming a major force for innovation in the television space, across new initiatives in OTT, advanced advertising, programming offerings, in-car entertainment and of course, ATSC 3.0.

Panelists will consider how local broadcasters will play in the TV of tomorrow. While many count local TV out of the game, it’s still the biggest player on the block. Will that last? What will local TV look like in the next 2, 5, 10 years?  Local TV may be still sitting in the catseat, but there’s a fast moving market growing up around them. We’ll see how these companies are evolving the local TV market in light of opportunities and challenges driving major changes.
