Television Transactions (Commercial Full Power and Class A)
April 2026 Activity
There were no reported transactions involving Commercial Full Power or Class A television stations during April 2026.
Despite the absence of announced television deals during the month, 2026 activity continues to reflect sustained interest in scaled local television portfolios and strong market positions.
2026 Year-to-Date Largest TV Transactions
The largest television transaction announced year-to-date remains EW Scripps’ acquisition of 23 television stations from INYO Broadcast Holdings for $54 million. The stations span major and mid-sized markets including Phoenix, Detroit, Denver, Cleveland-Akron, Indianapolis, Hartford-New Haven, Kansas City, West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce, Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo-Battle Creek, Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Oklahoma City, Birmingham, Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem, Memphis, Providence-New Bedford, Buffalo, Albany-Schenectady-Troy, Lexington, Spokane, Honolulu, and Boise.
The second-largest television transaction year-to-date was the March sale of WTVQ in Lexington, KY, by Morris Multimedia to EW Scripps for $15.8 million.
Transaction Note
The proposed Nexstar/TEGNA merger was announced in July 2025. BIA classifies transactions based on announcement date rather than closing date. As a result, the transaction involving 62 stations valued at $6.2 billion was included in BIA’s July 2025 transaction report.
Radio Transactions (Commercial)
April 2026 Activity
Radio transaction activity in April was led by smaller-market acquisitions.
The largest reported radio transaction was the acquisition of four stations in Topeka, KS, by KNZA from Connoisseur Media for $1.95 million.
The second-largest transaction was the purchase of five stations serving Jacksonville, Boiling Spring Lakes, Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, and Southport, NC, by Curtis Media Group from Capital Broadcasting for $1.75 million.
While radio deal flow remains selective, these transactions demonstrate continued investment in local and regional market opportunities.
2026 Year-to-Date Largest Radio Transactions
The largest radio transaction announced year-to-date remains the sale of three Florida stations serving Winter Haven, Lakeland, and Auburndale by Hall Communications to MARC Radio Group for $9 million in February.
The second-largest radio transaction year-to-date was the January sale of 11 stations by Bobby Caldwell to Arkansas River Valley Radio for $6.6 million.
February 2026 Addition
An additional February 2026 transaction was added to the report involving the transfer of KKTD in Macomb Township, MI, and KXNC in Ness City, KS, from Post Rock Radio to Murfin for no consideration.
