    TOM KENNEY, President & GM of Local Markets, Verve

    Tom leads the development and sales of Verve’s programmatic offerings for the SMB sector. Products include: Verve Local Merchant Offers, a high volume tier 2 and 3 solution for SMB digital marketing companies, local and regional automotive groups, and franchise companies; Verve Direct, providing direct programmatic access to Verve’s location platform for regional and local advertisers and agencies; and SMB Self Serve, a white label SMB self service offering that enables the creation and delivery of geo-fence campaigns at any price point for local businesses. Tom’s mobile industry experience dates back to 1994 as an early employee at start-up mobile carrier GO! Communications, a spin-out from MCI. Prior to starting Verve in 2005, he was a venture capitalist with Blue Run Ventures and Nokia Venture Partners, for over six years. While at BRV, Tom was a contributing principal on many investments, including PayPal (sold to eBay), Enpocket (sold to Nokia), MongoMusic (sold to Microsoft), Lightningcast (sold to AOL), eVoice (sold to AOL), and FreedomPay. Prior to Blue Run Ventures, Tom spent several years working in Nokia Corporation’s mergers and acquisition group.
