BIA/Kelsey Research on the Agenda: Social+Mobile for SMBs
The latest findings from BIA/Kelsey's Local Commerce Monitor
(LCM) study show SMBs are increasingly embracing mobile and social platforms
for improving operational efficiencies and promoting their businesses.
We'll dig deep into this data at LEADING IN LOCAL: SMB Digital Marketing and hear directly from industry leaders including Twitter, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and others on how they are driving SMB adoption of social and mobile platforms.
40% of SMBs Now Accept Mobile Payments
LCM Wave 17 reveals
40 percent of SMBs now accept payments at the point of sale with a mobile
credit card reader attached to a smartphone or tablet (e.g., PayPal Here,
Square, etc.). Another 16 percent plan to add this capability within the next
12 months.
The LCM study also shows SMBs are turning to mobile to get customers in the door, with 32 percent stating they are using some form of mobile advertising to promote their businesses, up from 28 percent in 2012.
72% of SMBs Use Social Media for Marketing
In addition, 52

Loyalty, Rewards and Transaction Marketing with First Data and LevelUp
SMB marketing efforts will increasingly leverage big data as consumer spending habits and behavior are steadily tracked. Coupons, offers, rewards and CRM will each play a role in this new generation of SMB commerce solutions.
At the conference, we'll go deep with industry leaders about the new opportunities inherent in transaction marketing.
Fresh off a keynote at SXSW, LevelUp's Seth Priebatsch returns to Austin to share thoughts on his company's "two horse race" with Square and the evolving loyalty and rewards space.
Priebatsch shares the stage with First
Data SVP of SMB Jim Contardi, who is leveraging his company's industry
leading position as the processor of 55 percent of U.S. transactions to
drive the new generation of transaction marketing.
Also at LEADING IN LOCAL, we'll look at transaction marketing from other angles with players such as Gannett Digital Marketing SVP Brad Robertson and ReachLocal CEO Zorik Gordon.
