Kerry D. Hatch
CEO, Gocella
Kerry is the CEO of Gocella, a NYC based soft ware start up. Gocella helps businesses grow sales by providing a marketing dashboard and one simple environment to execute mobile and social marketing and communication programs. Additionally, she is an active angel investor and on the Board of Plastiq, a new payment alternative for high ticket purchases.
Previously, Kerry was consulting to start ups and Fortune 100 companies in the payments and digital advertising arena. Just prior, she worked for Time Inc as the CEO and President of QSP, a $300MM for profit school product fundraising business that sells magazine subscriptions, food and gift products. Kerry was hired by Reader’s Digest’s to turn around or sell QSP. Within a few short months she led the sales process while taking on responsibility for Readers Digest’s other educational businesses including Weekly Reader and Compass Learning and an additional 1300 employees. In 2008 she sold the business to Time Inc and was required to continue run it.
Previously, Kerry was President of the St. Regis and Luxury Collection businesses for Starwood Hotels. She was responsible for the design and development of over 30 new luxury properties, brand building, product and service standards, P&L management and overseeing operations.
In 2004, Kerry was recruited by Quadrangle Group Partners to become CEO and President of Goodtimes Entertainment. Goodtimes, was a $250MM, vertically integrated diverse direct marketing and entertainment business specializing in long form infomercials and home video distribution. In addition to a library of over 2,000 movies, Goodtimes developed numerous well-known brands including: Billy Blanks Taebo/Bootcamp, Richard Simmons, The Firm, Xpress 101 and Benji. Kerry successfully sold the business to two strategic buyers in 2005.
For the first 22 years of her career, Kerry worked for American Express Travel Related Services in both the card issuing and merchant businesses as well as travel. She held 10 different strategy, marketing and general management positions during her tenure. Her last four years she was President of OPEN: The Small Business Network and a member of the Global Management Team (Top 40 Amex Executives). As President of a $2.5BN she drove repeated double-digit revenue and profit growth, acquired a business and created the OPEN brand and business model.
Kerry earned a MBA from the Columbia Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
