Grant is CEO and Founder of Weotta, the Kayak of local search. He is responsible for company  leadership, product vision and strategy, as well as all business aspects of the company.

He excels at orchestrating groups of unique people to do extraordinary things. In the case of Weotta, he’s assembled a small team of amazing people and a strong investor syndicate to tackle the big-data problems of local search. 

Using NLP and Deep Search technologies instead of traditional keyword-based text search, he’s led a team to successfully create a search engine that delivers more contextually relevant results for places to go and things to do than any other local search product. 

With the ability to understand natural language queries like “What should I do for my date Friday?” “What’s going on this weekend?” or “Is there a dog friendly restaurant around?” this search technology is in a class all its own.  

Prior to Weotta, he was a key contributor to the creation and launch of AngelList. Before that, he advised the Kauffman Foundation on the creation of Kauffman Labs. He began his high-tech career as the technical assistant to the CEO of Applied Materials. At age 18, he started working on Capitol Hill and continued political campaign work into his early twenties. 

He holds a BA in Journalism and minor in Finance from The George Washington University.
