Lauren R. Butler is Director, Media Valuations with the Media Division of BIA Financial Network, Inc. (BIAfn), a financial consulting and valuation firm which prepares appraisals, business plans, feasibility studies and related analyses, and provides financial advisory services.

Ms. Butler has been with BIAfn since 1988 and has valued over $40 billion worth of television, radio, and cable television properties and has valued some of the largest broadcasting companies in the nation. She has been responsible for the preparation of hundreds of fair market valuation and equity valuations for broadcasting and cable properties, and feasibility studies for start-up radio and television stations.

Ms. Butler's diverse experience also includes valuations of communications tower companies, publications, cable networks, outdoor companies, and trade show expositions, due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions, the valuation of Employee Stock Ownership Plans, as well as interests in privately held companies to be used for gift and estate planning, shareholder disputes, and litigation support. She has also testified as a valuation expert in several disputes involving broadcasting assets.

Prior to joining BIAfn, Ms. Butler served as a Financial Analyst with Frazier, Gross & Kadlec, Inc., a broadcast financial management consulting firm, also specializing in fair market valuations and tax appraisals for television, radio, and cable television stations. She was also previously employed as a Financial Analyst with Contel ASC.

Ms. Butler graduated from Furman University with a double major in Economics/Business Administration and Philosophy. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was conferred Cum Laude. She is an Associate of the American Society of Appraisers.
