Steve directs business development for the valuation and strategic consulting groups, and advises broadcast clients on strategic operational challenges.

Steven L. Passwaiter brings more than 20 years of experience to his role as Vice President of Business Development for the BIA Financial Network. Since joining BIAfn in 1998, Steve has led the firm's business development efforts with a focus toward quality client service that extends into BIAfn's consulting, research and investment banking divisions. In addition, he takes an active role in the media consulting practice by assisting broadcasters with strategic operational challenges and is a regular contributor to BIAfn Perspectives.

Prior to joining BIAfn, Steve gained valuable sales and sales management experience in the broadcasting industry, and brings first-hand knowledge of the many challenges broadcasters face day-to-day and long-term. His media sales career began in the newspaper industry before migrating to radio. He began his broadcasting career as an on-air personality at WLYT-FM in Cleveland. From 1984 to 1988, he served as an Account Executive and Regional Sales Manager for Malrite's WMMS-FM/WHK-AM in Cleveland, OH. He then moved into television, leading the sales staffs for independent WUAB-TV in Cleveland, OH and WDCA-TV, the UPN owned and operated station, in Washington, DC. While at both stations, Steve directed the sales teams in the achievement of revenues that far outpaced the growth of the marketplace.

Steve is a graduate of John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH and holds Bachelor's degrees in communications and history.
